More responses to questions from tonight's class

I received a couple more questions from John Kruth after the class finished tonight. 1. A question about groupings of scoring in Zener card tests Yes, there is some evidence that people appear to psi hit in clusters. 2. Emotional aspects to targets Thinking about emotional aspects to targets is an important lead into the next class on the correlates of ESP. Target features have been explored by some researchers, and actually the amount of emotionality does seem to be important for some experiments. I think that some studies have found that negative emotionality and the amount of emotional change in an image relate to psi hitting. 3. Calling biases for ESP targets - e.g. preferences for curvy shapes (the wine glass). Target sets are usually (but not always) assembled in an attempt to make sure that there are no systematic preferences. The best target sets are those which have been through a pre-study, where lots of people rate them for esthetics and emotionality, but not all studies have done this. you can do post hoc checks for biases, to see if people always pick a certain target when it comes up as one of the 4. Many of these preferences are indivdiual, and wash out over the whole study.... 4. The author of the book on remote viewing is Joe McMoneagle. 5. Chapters 3, 4 and 5 in Irwin are all useful to support the two ESP classes.
